What's New This Year

In 2016, Glow in the Park 5K fun run will be adding a new glowing theme for our events! We are super psyched to head back to the 80’s! Dude, it would be so totally lame if you didn’t, like, get in the mood and party hardy with us. So come check out our wicked fresh beats and rad hairdos. But don’t be a poser and leave your killer leg warmers at home. You’ll miss your chance to win the tubular costume contest! Yes, we said costume contest! And, like duh, we’ll have plenty of cool 80’s accessories to fix you up with if you can’t find any.

  • Pre-race Paint Party sponsored by 105.7 the X Rocks!: 6:30pm – 8:45pm
    • Join 105.7 the X Rocks for a face and body painting party and 80’s costume contest after you pick up your packet
  • Packet Pick-up: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM at City Island Park
  • Packets will not be available after 8:45 PM
  • 5K Run Start: approximately 8:50 PM
  • After Party: until 11:00pm

Charity

Harrisburg River Rescue and Emergency Services (HRRES) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, started in 1959, which provides a diverse range of services to the City of Harrisburg and all communities within Dauphin County. HRRES provides water safety education and training for the community and professional rescue personnel, water rescue and emergency response, ice rescue, and emergency boat operations for municipalities and organizations throughout Dauphin County. Our dive team responds to assists with rescue operations, underwater criminal investigations, forensic recovery, and provides law enforcement diver training. The diversity of our members includes training and certification as water rescue personnel, master divers, emergency medical technicians, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and educators.
Our Mission: To provide volunteer emergency search and rescue services to persons suffering because of fire, flood, accident or other disaster. These services include water rescue and patrol, dive rescue and recovery, special fire police services, emergency first response services, water-pumping and related services, and fire and rescue services to the public. The Corporation also provides emergency search and rescue equipment and facilities to governmental agencies and other organizations assisting persons in distress, and provides emergency search and rescue services to persons in distress on area waters. The Corporation offers courses that promote safety on area waters, and offers training to the general public and to emergency personnel on boating safety and water rescue.

Rules and Guidelines

In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Information will be available on the race website.

No refunds for any reason will be issued for this event within 30 days of the event start date. Earlier than 30 days before the event, a request may be made for a 50% refund (this will be 50% of entry fee, excluding any processing fees). Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to this refund policy.

Entries can be transferred to another individual for a $5 transfer fee. T-shirt size will not be changeable. Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year.
